5.5.10 - Thore Ehrling Grant 2010: Jan Lundgren is the recepient of the 2010 Thore Ehrling Grant. One of the most prestigious music awards of Sweden, this grant has previously been given to such renown artists as Monica Zetterlund, Benny Andersson (ABBA), Arne Domnerus or Alice Babs. Thore Ehrling (1912-1994) was a pioneer of Swedish popular music. The ceremony will take place at 'Nordiska Museet' in Stockholm on may 24, 2010.

25.2.10 - Jan Lundgren originals enter new series of Wallander movies: Avenue de Wagram and Belgian Blues, two originals by Jan Lundgren as well as Waltz for Philipp, composed by bassist Mattias Svensson (a longtime member of the Jan Lundgren Trio !), have been selected for the new series of films about Henning Mankell's popular detective Kurt Wallander. The two movies in question are The Phantom and The Heritage, both to be released in Scandinavia as DVD in spring 2010. All 13 movies will be shown on TV4 in Sweden and Canal+ during 2010/2011 and are coproductions between Yellowbird, TV4 Sweden and the German ARD/Degeto. By chance Jan lives and creates music in Ystad, the home town of the legendary Kurt Wallander.
21.1.10 - Ystad Sweden Jazz Festival 2010: The very first Ystad Sweden Jazz Festival is scheduled from aug. 6-8, 2010 and Jan will be the artistic director of the new event. Definitive program will be available in early spring 2010 !
